On-Site Services Private SeminarsOn-Site Seminar Courses OverviewDay 1 - Fundamentals of Takeoff & Modeling(for Earthwork 3D, SiteModel 3D & SitePlan 3D)Regardless of whether your AGTEK earthwork models will be used in the office—to bid work—or on the job site—to stake, check or control grade—this fast-paced lecture/demonstration format course methodically covers the fundamental base of program knowledge that all AGTEK 3D model builders require. Click for an overview of changes to this course since last season. Topics Include: Scaling and manual digitizing from plan-view drawing sheets and PDF files, creating horizontal/vertical/slope offsets, adjusting models for topsoil stripping and other fixed-depth existing removals, adjusting models for design structural sections, creating horizontal cut/fill subtotal areas, identifying and correcting data-entry and interpolation errors, calculating cut/fill volumes, and formatting printed/plotted documentation. Click for detailed seminar outline. Materials Provided: Each seminar student receives a detailed step-by-step seminar handbook (with corresponding training file downloads), documenting the techniques taught in this course. Prerequisites: Some hands-on experience with Earthwork 3D, SitePlan 3D, or SiteModel 3D is strongly recommended. Students with no prior experience on these products may be overwhelmed by the volume and detail of information presented, especially if they will also be registering for the Day 2 and/or Day 3 seminars (for new users with no prior experience, AGTEK's hands-on training options may be a more appropriate introduction to the products). Tuition: Variable, depending on location, required training/travel time, and number of attendees. Return to Onsite Training Page Day 2 - Working With CAD & Survey Data(for Earthwork 3D & SiteModel 3D)This comprehensive lecture/demonstration format course picks up where the Day 1 course leaves off by extending the attendee’s base of knowledge to include 3D modeling functions using CAD files and raw survey data sources. Click for an overview of changes to this course since last season. Topics include: Creating precision earthwork models from imported CAD data (CAD file format conversions, finding/eliminating CAD elevation errors, 2D to 3D conversions), coordinate translations, exporting AGTEK data to CAD (DWG/DXF), coordinate text, and machine control file formats, and importing and processing raw survey data (PNEZ ASCII coordinate text files). Click for detailed seminar outline. Materials: Each seminar student receives a detailed step-by-step seminar handbook (with corresponding training file downloads), documenting the techniques taught in this course. Prerequisites: Proficiency with the Day 1 "Earthwork Modeling Step-by-Step" topics is strongly recommended.Tuition: Variable, depending on location, required training/travel time, and number of attendees.Return to Onsite Training Page Day 3 - Strata, Haul Analysis, Over-Ex & Related Functions(for Earthwork 3D & SiteModel 3D)This intense lecture/demonstration format course is designed for "power users" and moves well beyond the Day 1 and Day 2 courses by demonstrating the advanced modeling and analytic capabilities of the Earthwork 3D and SiteModel 3D programs. Click for an overview of changes to this course since last season. Topics include: Modeling subsurface strata layers (including trench rock), balancing onsite cuts and fills, entering and using balance regions for haul analysis and/or vertical cut/fill subtotals, analytic applications of cut/fill depth contours, copying and pasting layer data between surfaces, and modeling vertically-staged earthwork (quantifying removal and replacement of unsuitable materials, creating "lowest surface" models, calculating structural excavation and backfill volumes, etc.). Click for detailed seminar outline. Materials: Each seminar student receives a detailed step-by-step seminar handbook (with corresponding training file downloads), documenting the techniques taught in this course. Prerequisites: Proficiency with the Day 1 "Earthwork Modeling Step-by-Step" topics is strongly recommended.Tuition: Variable, depending on location, required training/travel time, and number of attendees.Return to Onsite Training Page
